I like the inclusivity SNHU provides for all of its students as well as its drive to be the most innovated higher education school around the world.
As a business major and growing up knowing about my family's financial struggles I knew I never wanted to take a loan out for college. I never wanted to be in debt for a degree I wanted so badly. Seeing as my parents struggled with their finances for their entire lives - I never want the same for me. Working 60+ hours a week over the summer was going to help with the costs of school during the year; however, with the help of scholarships/financial aid I was able to not only cut back some of my work hours, but also start looking into internships to progress my career path for the future.
I would say thank you from the bottom of my heart that a kind soul like them would consider the needs of someone willing to take a chance to change the lives of themselves and potentially their family. College is a pathway that jumpstarts a young persons life. We all have different versions of our own success, but being able to have someone see those struggles students face with, and help out, is truly remarkable and allows students across the world start a new path of their own rather than follow a generational one.
I chose SNHU because I was accepted into the Bradley Honors Program as well as the generous amount of scholarships I had received.
My hope for receiving my education was to expand my knowledge for business, but most impurely expanding my network to hopefully jumpstart the career I have always wanted. My experience at college was more than I could ever dreamed of. Seeing students like me, just as passionate as I am, made me even more excited for my own future and the future of society in general.
I was inspired by my parents not knowing about finances. I knew I never wanted to be in the position that they were in. But on the flip side, I have always loved the entertainment industry. I don't know exactly yet, but if I could combine the two, that would be my dream job.
My biggest influence has been Professor Chris Matthews, hands down. This person as done so much with his life and has inspired so many students to follow their dream and change the world. His influence is the type of influence I wish to have in the industry I end up in.
At SNHU I was the communications marketer for the honors program under Professor Matthews. I was able to help communicate about all the upcoming events as well as any other task that would help the honors program grow to its full potential.
What I find most challenging is making everyone happy. It's so hard to truly balance everything in life and do the right thing on top of making sure everyone is satisfied with the outcome. I deal with this by making the most compromising decision I can, knowing that it won't make someone completely happy but content.
I am proudest of the reputation I have created for myself. I like to be know as reliable, hard working, and personable. I like having everyone being able to count on me to do the right thing, on time, as well as put a smile on everyone in the room.
I would love to one day hope to have the financial stability to be able to donate to the same organizations that helped me get the education I only dreamed of having.
