Scholarships mean hope, and for my family, it means to be calmed down, fewer hours of extra work, and less clothes that my sister has to sell to pay for my education. Scholarships mean breathing and studying, knowing that someone believes in you and your effort.
I would tell them how amazing it feels to receive the good news about being selected to receive a scholarship — it's not only hope for the student, but hope for the whole family as well. Thank you so much! Thank you for having such good and noble hearts. I would also tell them that I hope God gives them much more. Scholarship donors are setting a great example to our society. Someday, I hope I have the opportunity to give as much assistance as I've received.
Southern New Hampshire University seemed to be the perfect option for me. There are a lot of international students, and more importantly, my desired concentration was offered only here! SNHU has spirit, color, and hope.
It is completely different, starting with the country. I used to think that my opportunities to live and explore were limited to my home country, but now I discovered that there is a huge world outside there. I never imagined myself far away from home, speaking a foreign language, living with people I don´t even know. And the best part is that at SNHU I found my second home.
My family and I experienced financial problems and hard times when trying to run small businesses. I took my suffering as inspiration. My dream job is to open an organization to help small business owners overcome financial challenges.
My academic advisor and professors have helped me greatly. They are always able to help and showed me that I can pursue my dreams.
I have been involved in sports and student clubs. Being part of a team provides me a community of people that support each other.
As an international student, finances and missing home are truly challenging. Getting used to another country is the bravest thing I've ever done. The scholarships I received and talking with my family and friends helped a lot.
I'm proudest of my mom, my sister, my dad and my grandmother. They all are working hard to help me obtain my dreams of a degree, not only by moral support, but phisically working to obtain resources. They showed me how to be everything I am.
I would like to help other students and international students, who like me, came with fear but with a lot of desire to live and succeed.
