Program: Bachelor of Science in Biology
Scholarships paid a portion of my academic expenses which alleviated my financial burden and will allow me to focus on my studies this upcoming semester.
Thank you for your continued support!
I choose Southern New Hampshire University because of its honors program. One thing I noticed about the environment on campus was that everyone I spoke to was happy and positive, even people who weren't tour guides or professors just students we bumped into along the way.
My hope in receiving a college education was to have a positive learning environment with small classes and hands on experiences with professors. That is exactly what I received at Southern New Hampshire University and so much more.
I have always had a love for caring for people and have been fascinated with medicine and all things healthcare related.
SNHU has such an amazing staff and all are an enormous help to incoming students as well as incredibly friendly and kind. I have been able to spend a large amount of my time with Dr. Matthews in the honors suite and he is always interested to hear what we are learning about and any struggles we might be facing. I think between him and his Graduate Assistant, Duncan Rae, the two of them were able to get me through academic struggles along with being a smiling face on the hard days.
I am an Honors Fellow with the University's honors program, an officer of SNHU Buddies, and also a member of Intervarsity on campus.
I think time management and learning good study techniques that worked for me. I have dyslexia, which makes me a little slower with assignments and sometimes that can be really frustrating when I have a busy day and I need to find time to study or work on projects. That being said the accommodations SNHU provided for me have been extremely helpful and with the addition of some supportive friends I was able to learn and create new habits that have helped me obtain success.
I am proudest of the people skills I have developed since going to SNHU. Before attending on campus classes I worried that being an introvert I would have trouble making good connections with people; however, I have been able to make more than I could have ever imagined.
As an alumna, I hope to stay active with the honors program at SNHU.
