I really like the campus involvement opportunities and the community.
Paying for college is a constant worry, and income changes yearly. This scholarship helped financially and encouraged me to maintain my GPA and achieve honor rolls.
Those who donate to scholarships make it much easier for students who worry and have trouble paying for school. More importantly, there is no better feeling than receiving that scholarship email saying 'Congratulations!' and with this email, comes inspiration and motivation to continue striving.
I chose it for the campus involvement opportunities and the community. SNHU offers more than most colleges with their scholarships, activities and support system for our courses and future careers.
By receiving a college education, my hope was that it would better aid me in my future plans and career path. A degree isn't just a piece of paper you get after four years. It tells everyone you made it and have the ability to continue learning. College is what you make out of it, there is no better feeling than achieving your goal at the end.
Family and my prior work experience aided me in choosing my area of study. Working retail at 15 years old inspired me to learn more about consumers and the "whys" we buy what we see. All of my family has business ethics as well, with many of them owning their own companies. With this, I hope to start my own some day.
When I first started at SNHU I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to major in and had no idea of what I wanted to do after college. I was just here taking classes. It wasn't until my sophomore year in my Professional Communication and Career Planning course that our professor, Chance Clutter, showed us different careers and what it's like after college. I met with him outside of class to work on my resume building and he recommended multiple ways to improve my work experience and make myself "stand out". Thanks to that class and Professor Cutler, I've found my way.
I've participated in intramural sports, such as flag football and basketball. I also check CAPE's (Coordinators of Activities Programming and Events) website and social media to see what's new and what I might like to get involved in.
There have been times where I get a grade I wasn't expecting, however after speaking with professors they make it a lot easier to worry less.
I'm proudest of my persistence to continue my education after high school. I'm very proud to be in college and being one step away from achieving honor rolls.
I want to offer scholarships to help students that are struggling. I hope to inspire students to continue with their education no matter what the situation is, and reach for that better outcome.
