I chose Southern New Hampshire University because I immediately felt a sense of belonging, fell in love with the campus, its community, and the diversity there. I have enjoyed getting involved with the campus activities and seeing how dedicated SNHU is in promoting and practicing inclusion. My experience at SNHU has changed how I view myself and others, broadening my perspective and helping me grow as a person who wants to serve others. I am very grateful as well for all the resources available to students, mentally and academically.
The scholarships and additional financial aid I have received take a huge weight off of my shoulders when it comes to managing the finances around my education. I can better focus on my studies, a well-rounded experience on campus, and preparing for life in my community after I graduate.
Thank you for supporting me in this stage of my life. My academics have always been an area that I take seriously, and I truly try to live by my values and in service of others, so it means a lot to me knowing that this is recognized by others who are willing to support me. I will do my best to continue putting my best foot forward. Thank you so much.
I have always had a passion for and interest in understanding others' behavior, particularly the thinking that drives people's behavior. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be of service, help build community, and foster a sense of belonging wherever I was in the world. I was immediately drawn towards psychology. Seeing how SNHU practiced inclusion, embraced identity, and created a safe space for people from different backgrounds made me confident that it would be a great place for me to start this journey. I am proud of my resilience, consistency, and ability to adapt to not only university life, but living in a new country and making a valuable contribution to my community.
Receiving a scholarship has helped me immensely, allowing me to engage more in campus activities, restore my work-life balance, and plan my finances for my future leading up to and after graduation. With less financial burden, I am able to focus more on my studies and actively pursue a well-rounded college experience.
Thaline Rodene from the Office of Diversity Programs has significantly impacted my time at SNHU. She has guided, mentored, and supported me, not only in my academics, but in my personal and professional goals as well. Having a safe space like hers on campus has truly helped me feel at home and embraced.
