Alumni, Family and Friends
There are two Distinguished Service Awards: the Distinguished Alumni Service Award and the Distinguished Service to Alumni Award. The Distinguished Alumni Service Award honors an individual who graduated six or more years ago. The Distinguished Service to Alumni Award honors a faculty or staff member or friend of Southern New Hampshire University. Both awards recognize the individual's leadership, dedication and loyal service to the university and the alumni community. Prior to 2021, both categories of recipients were combined and one award was given.
Jennifer currently serves as director of ceremonies and events at SNHU as well as an adjunct instructor. Her incredible enthusiasm for SNHU, its students, faculty, administration and staff beams with Penmen pride. Jennifer's involvement as a New Hampshire College student leader set the foundation for continued engagement as an alumna. Over the years, Jennifer has served as a committee member and project leader for Global Days of Service. During the COVID-19 pandemic Jennifer supported Fuel Our Families by filling boxes of food for distribution to the food pantries throughout Greater Manchester. Thank you, Jennifer, for your contributions!
In the 40 years of working at SNHU, Connie Hebert’s responsibilities grew with the university; she supported a variety of departments over the years, including Residence Life, the Dean of Students and even custom sewing each Penmen cheerleading uniform by hand. Connie saw and believed in the good in each student and can always be found with a smile on her face. Thank you, Connie, for your contributions!
Since his arrival in the early 1990’s, Ed has immersed himself in the SNHU community. The Alumni Association has been very appreciative of his willingness to be part of its activities over three decades from offering to give tours of the library, to supporting student scholarships. Student-athletes continue to benefit from his lifelong passion of track and field, as he serves as a coach in the Track and Field program. His funding of the Ed Daniels Track and Field Endowment Fund is yet one more example of his commitment to athletes, the program and the future. Thank you Ed, for your contributions!
