Giving back is embedded into the SNHU culture and it is inspirational to be around caring individuals all day long doing great work. It motivates me to want to make a similar impact in any way that I can! I also personally love helping the community and trying to make a difference. As an alumna and also current employee, SNHU makes it easier to volunteer, often offering one-off projects that can fit into a work day or during paid time off.
I enjoy giving back to the community; it is a privilege to be able to do so. The opportunities afforded to me because of my SNHU education is something that I cannot take for granted, and I feel a continuous pull to give back to the university and local community any way that I can because of how much my education gave me. I am energized by the groups at SNHU that want to volunteer – it is always an uplifting experience.
I have seen people come together from different parts of their community and find local SNHU students that they could then become friends with. I think that is so cool! I have also seen groups clean up dozens of camp sites for various parks and sort thousands of pounds of household goods for local donation centers. The combination of doing great work and meeting awesome people is the best result that a group leader can get, I think!
Perhaps not unexpected, but it is always nice to realize how willing everyone is to help when planning something like a Global Days of Service project. There is never a shortage of interest. When planning a Global Days of Service event last year, the response was so overwhelming that I offered a second event on a different day and that one quickly filled up as well. It makes my job so much easier when everyone is so eager to jump in and lend a hand.
Of course! As long as I am able to, I will always volunteer with various groups through SNHU.
Yes, I am always informing my colleagues and friends of the various opportunities that exist for volunteering. I think this makes it even more fun! It is nice to get together outside of the office environment and work together on a common goal that will make a difference in the lives of others.
