Lisa was part of the pilot of the Signature Leadership mentoring program in the 2014-2015 school year and is now in her second year with the same student mentee, Chelsea. Chelsea and Lisa's relationship has flourished and the two will stay in touch long after Chelsea leaves SNHU. Lisa is positive and excited to assist students looking to enter a field in which she's extremely passionate.
I love sharing my marketing and graphic design knowledge. I’ve taken on a few interns from SNHU and when I was asked to join the Signature Leadership mentoring program because they had a graphic design student who needed a mentor. I was delighted to be asked and they did a great job pairing us up!
Watching my mentee grow. Her confidence and skills have grown so much over the past year since we’ve been paired up. Being a mentor allows me to stay connected to SNHU. I see so much of myself in her at that age. She is a go-getter and I was one too.
My mentee has opened up so much. I am not sure if I helped her with her confidence, but I’ve see a powerful aura develop around her and she is becoming a leader at SNHU!
Nothing unexpected, but I think what I find most exciting as I get to know my mentee is how much we are very similar. I also expect to engage with my mentee well into her career after she graduates from SNHU.
Sure! I think I have a lot to offer to students working their way through higher education in hopes to have a wonderful job someday. My time as an SNHU student has opened so many doors and I want to give back and share my experience. If I can help someone take the right steps while in college that will allow them to launch a wonderful and creative career after college, I’ve done my job. That’s what matters most in mentor volunteering…I think.
Yes! I actually have a candidate who wants to be a mentor too and get into volunteering more. She is an SNHU alumna. I picked her up as an intern in 2010. Hired her full time 2011 and we still work together today…just at a new company and we now work side by side! She wants to be a mentor too and I think she’d be perfect as a marketing mentor!
